da 888: According to The Mirror, Valencia are targetting Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
What’s the story?
da 888casino: Chelsea signed Batshuayi for £33m in the summer of 2016, but the Belgian striker was limited to just a bit-part role under former boss Antonio Conte. When Olivier Giroud then arrived from Arsenal in January this year, Batshuayi was pushed even further down the pecking order and instantly joined Dortmund on loan.
In the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old netted a seriously impressive seven goals in just 10 matches before an ankle injury brought an end to his season and to his time in Germany.
Although he doesn’t always look like the most natural finisher, Batshuayi has an impressive record at each of his previous clubs and it was his 33 goals in 78 games for Marseille that convinced Chelsea to spend big money.
Valencia can offer the Brussels-born striker Champions League football after they finished fourth in La Liga last time out, but if Batshuayi is to leave Chelsea this summer there will be no shortage of clubs in for him.
Another ambitious signing
One club that should make an attempt to sign him is Premier League new boys Wolves. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have made nine signings so far this summer, including the outstanding captures of Portugal internationals Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho.
Batshuayi’s Transfermarkt valuation of £36m would at one point have been considered ludicrous for a newly-promoted side, but with the signings that Wolves and Fulham have already made this summer it could be an achievable dream.
The West Midlands side have already added Raul Jimenez and former loanee Leo Bonatini to their attacking options this summer but neither have the pedigree of the Belgian international, who would be guaranteed to score goals with service coming from Ruben Neves and Moutinho in central midfield.
